Built by Experience. Driven by Purpose.

30+ years in the game. 10+ years coaching youth players. One mission: make purposeful soccer development easier for players and parents.

DIY Soccer Academy™ was created to help young players build stronger skills, greater confidence and better training habits through structured development they can follow beyond team practice.

Because improving at soccer shouldn't depend on parents knowing which drills to choose or children simply hoping they'll get enough touches at their next practice.

Every player deserves a clear path to improve.

Why I Created DIY Soccer Academy™

Soccer has been part of my life for more than 30 years.

As a player, I spent years training, competing, learning from experienced coaches and discovering something that has shaped the way I coach today:

Players don't improve simply because they spend more time around soccer. They improve when they consistently practice the right things with purpose.

That lesson became even clearer when I began coaching youth players.

Over more than a decade on the sidelines, I worked with players across different ages, ability levels and stages of development.

And I kept seeing the same problem.

Motivated players wanted to improve, but many didn't know how.

They attended team practices.

They played games.

Some even practiced in the backyard.

But between those moments, many players had no clear development plan.

Parents wanted to help, but often had the same questions:

What should my child practice?

How often should they practice?

Which skills matter most right now?

Are they actually improving?

That's the gap DIY Soccer Academy™ was created to solve.

Team Practice Is Important.

But Individual Development Requires Individual Repetition.

Team coaches have an important job.

They have to prepare an entire roster to play together, working on tactics, positioning, communication, team shape, and game preparation.

That means there isn't always enough time for every player to get the individual technical repetitions they need.

A young player may need hundreds of touches to become comfortable with a skill.

Those repetitions often happen outside team practice.

DIY Soccer Academy™ helps families make those repetitions more purposeful.

Rather than asking players to spend hours training, we focus on something much simpler:

A ball. A plan. About 15 purposeful minutes.

My Coaching Philosophy

I believe youth development should build more than soccer skills.

It should help players become confident enough to try.

Resilient enough to make mistakes.

Disciplined enough to keep practicing.

And independent enough to take ownership of their improvement.

That's why the training inside DIY Soccer Academy™ is built around a few simple principles:

Control Before Speed

Players should learn movements correctly before trying to perform them faster.

Progress Before Perfection

Improvement comes from consistent repetition, not getting everything right immediately.

Confidence Comes From Preparation

Confidence isn't something we simply tell children to have.

It's something they develop by doing the work, seeing themselves improve and trusting their abilities.

Training Should Have a Purpose

Young players shouldn't have to wonder what they should work on next.

A clear plan makes development easier for both players and parents.

What Makes DIY Soccer Academy™ Different

There are countless soccer drills available online.

Finding another drill isn't usually the problem.

Knowing what to practice, why you're practicing it and what should come next is.

DIY Soccer Academy™ is designed to provide that structure.

Through Foundation Academy™, young players can develop important fundamentals through short, purposeful sessions they can follow at home.

For players who need more individualized guidance, the Private Coaching Experience™ provides one-on-one coaching focused on the player's specific needs and development.

Both are built around the same philosophy:

Make player development clear, purposeful and accessible.

Meet Coach Scott

For more than three decades, soccer has shaped how I think about preparation, discipline, confidence and improvement.

I've experienced the game as a player.

I've experienced it as a coach.

And I've experienced the challenges parents face when they're trying to help their child improve but aren't sure where to start.

DIY Soccer Academy brings those experiences together.

My goal isn't to replace your child's team coach.

It's to give your child another resource, one designed specifically to help them develop their individual game.

If your child is willing to practice, I want to make sure they know what to practice and how to make that time count.
